Alpe d'Huzes
Giving up is not an option!
5,000 cyclists, alone or in teams, will climb the Alpe d'Huez ascent and its legendary 21 hairpin bends up to six times in a single day.
A mythical and renowned climb in the Netherlands, with its 14 km and 1,120 meters of elevation gain. By bike, running, or walking, the goal is to cover a maximum of 84 km and 6,700 meters of elevation gain in the same day! The objective of these six ascents (Zes meaning 6 in Dutch) is to raise funds for the KWF, the official national cancer foundation in the Netherlands.

Alpe d'Huez Triathlon
The Alpe d'Huez Triathlon celebrates its 30th anniversary
The Alpe d'Huez Triathlon returns from August 2nd to 6th for its 30th edition. This iconic and magical sporting event is renowned for its difficulty and the beauty of its courses. Every year, it brings together nearly 5,000 athletes from many countries, ready to take on a demanding challenge in the heart of the Oisans mountain range. The course combines physical effort and endurance management with three demanding events:
The L Triathlon: 2.2km swim / 118km bike / 19.2km run
The M Triathlon: 1.5km swim / 28km bike / 6.4km run
The Duathlon : 6.5km run / 15km bike / 5.5km run
The race begins with a swim in Lake Verney, whose cool waters immediately set a fast pace. It continues with the cycling segment, marked by the iconic climb of Alpe d'Huez and its 21 hairpin bends. This steady but demanding climb is the key moment of the race and tests the physical and mental capabilities of the triathletes. The run then takes place in the hills above the resort, on a rolling course offering sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.
